Wow, what a
year we’ve had! The fun began in January 2006 when we were told that
we were most likely carrying triplets. Boy, were we shocked . . .
and terrified! We were ecstatic to finally be pregnant, but
terrified at the prospect of raising multiples. Alas, triplets were not to
be, as one of our little ones failed to progress past eight weeks.
Our fraternal twin boys were born on August 5, 2006 via emergency
c-section. Due to an illness Emily developed called HELLP Syndrome,
they arrived almost eight weeks before their due date. Despite the
rough start, the Berwick boys have thrived. Carter, our firstborn
and smallest, has been first to try everything. He is a “little
muscle” - active, energetic, and boisterous with a smile that melts your
heart. Miles is our sweet thinker, taking everything in with his big
blue eyes and contemplating every move. We both agree that Em’s days at
home with the twins are much more exciting than Chris’ days at the
office. We feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to
raise these precious souls.
